There are so many awesome things that happen in this classroom each day when I stop and think to myself..."man, I wish their parents were here to see this!". While I love the weekly newsletter, the reality is that sometimes Friday isn't always the day I need to get information out. It's also very time consuming to create the newsletter and I sometimes have a lot to say about one thing in particular and not much to say about something else. Lastly, there are weeks when I don't get a newsletter out which is difficult because then information isn't being received in a timely fashion - which is a major goal of mine in the area of communication with families.
With all this in mind, I have been trying to figure out a different way to communicate with families and students. A way that would be quick, easy-to-update, accessible, convenient, and informative. When searching my website for solutions, the blog option appeared. I've heard a lot of teachers talking about blogging as a way of communication and sharing student work and figured I might as well give it a try - so here we are! :)
At this point, my goal on this blog is to update at least once per week, but hopefully more with pictures, student work, table conversation starters, and educational resources you might find helpful. If you have suggestions for things that would be helpful on this website or blog, please feel free to let me know - I'm open to feedback!
